American International Group Inc. (AIG) appointed Cindy Leggett-Flynn as senior vice president, chief communications officer.

Leggett-Flynn will will oversee corporate brand and marketing, internal communications, media relations and corporate citizenship activities. She replaces Christina Pretto, who left AIG in November.

Leggett-Flynn was most recently a New York-based partner of the Brunswick Group LLP, a communications consultancy. She previously served as the firm’s managing partner for greater China, based in Hong Kong.

Ohio-based insurance brokerage, Hylant, named Spencer Timmel to the new position of vice president, Cyber & Technology Risk Practice leader.

Spencer speaks regularly on network security and privacy liability topics. He holds the Certified International Privacy Professional (CIPP) and Certified International Privacy Manager (CIPM) designations, which are recognized by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Hylant also promoted Kevin O’Donnell to senior vice president, Risk Practices.

O’Donnell will lead the property, marine, global risk, casualty, environmental, executive risk, aviation, property risk control, surety and claims risk practice areas.

He has been with Hylant for 10 years and previously led the property, marine and global risk practices. His client roster included industries such as automotive, chemical, construction, electronics, food and beverage, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

O’Donnell is a member of the Risk Management Insurance Society.

MJ Insurance added Ryan Goodwin to its risk management and commercial insurance team in Indiana.

Goodwin joins MJ from Morgan Insurance Group in Martinsville.

Goodwin has served as a county council member in Morgan County, as a town council member in Mooresville and as a member of the Indiana Medicaid Advisory Committee.

MJ Insurance is a property/casualty and employee benefits agency that, since 1964, has grown from a two-person start-up to an agency with more than 145 employees in both Phoenix and Indianapolis.
