RiskMatch, a Greenwich, Conn., headquartered business intelligence and analytics firm that provides insurance portfolio management and placement support services to insurance brokers and insurers, has hired Michael Golden as chief market engagement officer.

Golden has served in various leadership roles with insurance brokerages and companies during his three decade-long career. Before joining RiskMatch, he was executive vice president of global and risk solutions at Willis Towers Watson in Stamford, Conn.

From 2008 until 2013, he served as executive vice president of broker relationship and distribution management at Zurich North America. Prior to that, he held various positions at Marsh Inc., where he led the firm’s global industry practices and key U.S. operations, including New York and New England.

Professional Insurance Agents of New York State Inc. (PIANY), a trade association representing independent insurance agencies, brokerages and their employees throughout the state of New York, elected John C. Parsons II as president at a recent meeting of the association’s board of directors.

Parsons is the executive vice president of Parsons & Associates, a Syracuse, N.Y.-based insurance and risk management firm. He is a third generation professional independent agent, succeeding his father and grandfather as president of PIANY.

Parsons has been an active member of PIANY’s board of directors since 2006, where he served as treasurer from 2010 to 2011, vice president from 2011 to 2014, first vice president from 2014 to 2015 and, most recently, as president elect in 2015 and 2016.

He is vice president of the Government Affairs and Nominations Committees and a member of the Executive/Budget & Finance and Company/Industry Relations Committees.

Additionally, he is chair of the association’s Syracuse Advisory Council.

Everest Insurance, a subsidiary of Bermuda based Everest Re Group Ltd., has hired Matt Murray as regional leader of marketing and distribution for the East region. He will be based in the firm’s New York City office.

Before joining Everest, Murray spent his 25 year career at Marsh USA Inc. He began his career as a risk management casualty broker and most recently served as a New York based managing director and global risk management client executive.

QBE North America, a New York headquartered operating division of QBE Insurance Group, has promoted Jonathon Fanti to senior vice president and underwriting leader in the firm’s public company management liability division.

He will report to John Burkhart, senior vice president and head of management liability and professional lines. Fanti will work to set the underwriting strategy for the firm’s directors and officers product line and work to expand QBE’s public company business nationally.

Fanti joined the company in 2013. Prior to that, he served as assistant vice president for 11 years at Chubb, where he worked to manage a regional public company portfolio.

XL Catlin has hired Ronnell Agatep as global head of underwriting in its newly launched global retail accident and health insurance business.

The firm’s new business aims to help corporate clients safeguard their workforce by offering various accident and health insurance programs, including group personal accident, group business travel, individual leisure travel and employer/non-employee group programs.

In this newly created role, Agatep will be based in New York and will work to drive product development and underwriting guidelines for the business unit.

He will report to Patrick Corbett, global chief underwriting officer for XL Catlin’s retail accident and health insurance business.

Agatep joins XL Catlin from Liberty Mutual where he served as senior vice president of global accident and health insurance.

Property and casualty insurance company Chubb has promoted Raimund Navakas to executive vice president of its Overseas General Insurance division based in New York.

Navakas will continue to lead the division’s risk engineering practice and will be responsible for supporting the international property/casualty business with oversight, technical research, risk engineering product development and Chubb’s Loss Control University fire lab.

Navakas will continue to report to David Furby, division president of commercial property/casualty for the Overseas General Insurance division, and Joseph S. Clabby, division president of the Bermuda and global accounts.
