Cincinnati, Ohio-based Great American Insurance Group promoted Jason M. Cohen to divisional president of Strategic Comp, succeeding Stephen Rosenthal, who will retire at the end of 2016.

Cohen joined Great American in 2006 as divisional vice president and claims counsel and most recently served as divisional executive vice president of operations for Strategic Comp.

Prior to joining Great American, Cohen served as an attorney for the law firms of Keating, Muething & Klekamp and Bingham McCutchen.

Risk management services firm Hanover Stone Partners appointed Katherine Smith Dedrick, William M. Goddard, and David A. Seibert as senior risk advisors in the Central United States.

Based in Chicago, Dedrick is a insurance attorney and risk consultant. She has more than 30 years of experience in insurance, risk management and related corporate governance issues.

Goddard, based in St. Louis, Mo., has more than 40 years of experience in risk management, medical benefits, insurance brokerage, and claims management.

He concurrently serves as a principal in the Insurance Advisory Services Group at Brown Smith and Wallace.

Goddard holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) professional designation.

Based in St. Paul, Minnesota, Seibert has 30 years of experience in risk management, finance, and information systems management. Most recently, he was enterprise risk management leader and content creator with Integrated Governance Solutions LLC.

Prior to that, he was vice president, Enterprise Risk Management and Strategy, with Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union. He also has served was senior group manager, Corporate Risk & Responsibility for Target Corp.

Chicago-based CNA appointed Paul Larson to senior vice president, Financial Institutions and Management Liability.

Larson joins CNA with more than 24 years of insurance industry experience, most recently serving as executive vice president for Chubb.

He began his career as a commercial lines underwriter for Continental Insurance Co. in California.

Insurance and risk management firm Risk Strategies Co. expanded its Chicago staff with the addition of Sandy Leon and Andrew Bonk to the company’s Private Client Group.

Leon and Bonk come to Risk Strategies from the brokerage firm HUB International where, for the past 12 years, they have focused on serving the risk mitigation and insurance placement needs of some of the world’s wealthiest families.

A top producer who helped build one of the largest books of private client group business in the Midwest, Leon joins Risk Strategies as senior vice president, family office practice leader for the Midwest, and will be responsible for structuring personal insurance programs for successful individuals across the United States and internationally.

With more than 35 years of private client and family office experience, Bonk joins as senior account executive in Risk Strategies’ Chicago-based Private Client Group, managing a select group of high net worth clients.

Keystone Insurers Group named Andrea Powell as its state vice president for Missouri.

Powell brings 16 years of experience in the insurance industry. Most recently, she was the Missouri marketing representative for United Fire Group. She has experience as both a commercial insurance agent and a company marketing representative.

In 2012, she was selected as Missouri Company Representative of the Year by the Missouri Association of Insurance Agents.

Founded in 1983, Keystone is headquartered in Northumberland, Penn.

Rockhill Insurance Group, a member of Columbus, Ohio-based State Auto Insurance Group, has tapped Jack Abney to lead its environmental underwriting unit as vice president – environmental.

Rockhill also named Tracy Upton to lead its new E&S property unit.

Abney has worked in Rockhill’s general binding and business development units, and will continue to work with Rockhill trading partners and work with the entire Rockhill team to develop new products and product enhancements.

He also has a history with the National Environmental Coverage Corp. (NECC) and an expertise in environmental products and underwriting.

Upton is a 30-year insurance veteran with a specialization in startup programs and operations. He comes to Rockhill from Everest National, where he successfully established and led its wholesale property operations over the past 10 years.

Upton holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
