Teri Brinson, executive vice president of M.D. Jensvold & Co. Inc. in Houston, has been elected president of the Texas Surplus Lines Association (TSLA).

Brinson was installed at TSLA’s 61st Annual Meeting held Nov 14 in Austin. She took over the leadership position from Past President Shawn Fabors.

Other newly elected TSLA officers are Vice President Garrett Sprowls, general counsel/managing broker at Professional Lines Underwriting Specialists Inc. (PLUS Inc.) in Austin; and Secretary/Treasurer Matt Leicht, CEO at ISU LLC in Houston.

New TSLA directors elected to three-year terms are David Day, with Texas All Risk General Agency Inc. in Dallas; Randy Doss, with CRC Insurance Services Inc. in Houston; and Justin Kotrla, with Southwest Risk LP in Dallas.

Dallas-based Lockton Dunning Benefits (LDB) promoted Todd Leveridge to executive vice president/partner.

Leveridge has more than 27 years of experience in employee benefits consulting and outsourcing.

He began his career with a major insurance carrier in national accounts business development. Leveridge subsequently co-founded a benefits technology outsourcing company, CompLink, which he sold to Conexis in 2003.

He joined Lockton Dunning Benefits in February 2004 as senior vice president.

Leveridge is on the board of Heart House Dallas, an afterschool safe-haven for refugee and underprivileged children in Vickery Meadow, as well as the board of Forgiven Ministries, an outreach to the homeless and those less fortunate.

EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants, a retail property/casualty insurance brokerage and employee benefits consultant, announced that Ascende — an EPIC Company promoted Mary Parker and Dina Flavin to managing principals in Houston.

The company’s Southwest Region also welcomed Javier Yturralde as Global Solutions practice leader.

Parker and Flavin join Steve Goulet and Suzanne McGarey as strategic leaders of Ascende’s Health & Welfare practice. Collectively, they also serve as client engagement managers, providing senior leadership support and direction to the firm’s consulting clients.

Parker joined Ascende in 2005 as a senior associate. Most recently, she led the Global Solutions practice, supporting clients’ globally mobile employees, including U.S. expatriates, rotators, third country nationals and local nationals.

Prior to joining the firm, Parker served as a benefits analyst at Reliant Energy Inc. and the Westlake Group.

Flavin began her career at Ascende in 2005 as a senior associate as well. She joined the firm with 10 years of experience with actuarial and underwriting roles in the health insurance industry.

Yturralde brings 20 years of international employee benefits experience. Prior to joining the firm, he served as regional director of Broker/Insurance Partnerships at International SOS where he was responsible for the development and expansion of key brokerage, consulting and insurer relationships in the U.S.

He also previously served as regional director of MetLife’s Multinational Solutions, for

merly AIG.
