1347 Property Insurance Holdings Inc., a property and casualty insurance holding company based in Tampa, Fla., has appointed Dan Case to the position of chief operating officer.

Case will be responsible for strategies and activities relating to profitable growth for the company’s insurance operations, including product strategies, underwriting, sales and distribution, in addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations. The company offers specialty insurance to individual and commercial customers in Louisiana and Texas through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Maison Insurance Company, which also recently became licensed in Florida.

Case has 17 years of experience in financial services during which time he has focused exclusively on the insurance and reinsurance industries. Prior to joining the company, Case was an executive vice president at BMS Re from September 2016 to March 2017 and a founding partner at Advocate Reinsurance Partners from 2010 to 2016, where he led the property reinsurance practice.

Case began his career at Banc of America Securities’ Financial Institutions Group in 2000. In 2002, Case joined Aon Benfield Securities, where he worked until 2006. He then joined HBK Investments as an analyst managing private equity, collateralized reinsurance investments and traded securities in the P/C insurance and reinsurance market.

The Villages Insurance Partners (TVIP) has added Lisa Sardisco to its Commercial Risk Management Division in The Villages, Fla.

The Villages Insurance Commercial Risk Management Team specializes in protecting business owners and their employees across the country. Formerly of Holder Insurance Agency in Ocala, Fla., Sardisco has more than 10 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., Sardisco joined TVIP to assist in growing the Commercial Lines Division.

Sardisco will be based at the The Villages Insurance Lake Sumter Landing office.

Centauri Insurance has hired Cindy Gaul as assistant vice president of Claims.

Gaul will be responsible for contributing to the company’s focus on customer service orientation, accuracy, innovation and oversight in the claims process. According to the company, her role will be key to Centauri’s continued dedication to claims servicing.

Gaul has 23 years of experience in the insurance industry and was formerly vice president of Claims at FCCI Insurance Group.

Centauri Insurance is a property and casualty insurance company based in Sarasota, Fla., which currently operates across nine states with continual plans for expansion.

Norman-Spencer Agency Inc., a national property and casualty insurance provider, has opened a new recreational marine operation in High Point, North Carolina. Jason Norman will lead the office as the underwriter production manager.

Norman work directly with local retail agents to provide Norman-Spencer’s Recreational Marine Program and other recreational products to retail agents. The program supports boat dealers, marinas, boat manufacturers, yacht clubs, boat clubs and recreational marine distributors.

Norman has been with the company since 2010, most recently working with the Norman-Spencer Marine team. He previously held the position of Underwriting manager for Norman-Spencer’s proprietary concrete pumping program.

AXIS Capital Holdings Limited has appointed James Martin and Russ Madore, each as vice president, U.S. Programs, within AXIS Insurance’s Property and Casualty team. Martin and Madore will each be responsible for oversight of select AXIS Insurance programs in the property and casualty sector and will be based out of the company’s Alpharetta, Ga., office. They will report to John Tatum, executive vice president and head of U.S. Programs at AXIS Insurance.

Martin has nearly four decades of insurance industry experience. Prior to AXIS, he was an auto product line specialist in Starr Companies’ Environmental Division. Previously, he spent 17 years at CNA, where he was director of Captives and managed the group captive programs for trucking and roofing, as well as its commercial insurance programs for landcare network and building equipment installation and repair.

Before CNA, Martin held casualty underwriting roles at Continental National Indemnity, Northbrook Property and Casualty, Midwestern Indemnity and The Hartford.

Madore previously held a number of senior financial positions within AXIS Insurance, having joined the company in November 2002. He most recently served as vice president, finance officer, for AXIS Insurance’s U.S. Division.
