American Re-Insurance Company announced from its headquarters in Princeton, N.J. that Douglas Boyce has joined the company as vice president responsible for day-to-day oversight of the company’s insurance company operations.
He has held various executive, claims, marketing, and underwriting positions in the insurance industry. Boyce was most recently chief underwriting officer of the Legion Insurance Group. He is a former President and CEO of the Interstate Insurance Group and Division Executive for program business written by AIG. His experience encompasses all lines of property and casualty insurance, including workers’ compensation, property, general liability, personal and commercial automobile and professional liability.
“We are excited to have Doug leading insurance company operations,” stated Tony Kuczinski, president of Munich-American RiskPartners, the alternative market division of American Re. “Doug will play a key role in helping to expand the company’s insurance company operations, which directly supports its reinsurance business by providing primary insurance support to its clients. Doug will also be vice president of American Alternative Insurance Corporation and The Princeton Excess and Surplus Lines Insurance Company.”
Boyce is a founding member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) and served as its first president. In 1997, he was the recipient of the PLUS ONE award in recognition of his contributions to the professional liability community.
