Former N.Y. Official Samers Promoted to Global Ethics Post at ACE

December 14, 2006

The ACE Group of Companies has appointed Audrey M. Samers global ethics and compliance officer, effective Jan. 1, 2007.

Samers will be responsible for providing ethics and business practices guidance, educating the ACE organization on that guidance, and maintaining a global monitoring function to evaluate compliance. Her mandate will also include communication and training for business ethics and compliance-related matters across the organization.

Samers will report to Robert Cusumano, general counsel of ACE Limited, on a day-to-day basis and will also report directly to Evan Greenberg, president and chief executive officer of ACE Limited, and to the Audit Committee of the ACE Limited board of directors. She succeeds Kevin Rampe, who was recently named general counsel for the company’s North American operations.

Prior to her current appointment, Samers served as deputy global compliance officer and associate general counsel.

Samers joined ACE in May 2006 from the New York State Insurance Department, where she had served as deputy superintendent and general counsel since June 2001. Prior to joining the New York State Insurance Department, she worked for the law firm of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver and Jacobson, where she focused on complex securities transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and class action litigations.
