Democrats now in control of Delaware House of Representatives have announced their committee assignments for the upcoming legislative session.
The Tourism Committee, which rarely met last session, is becoming part of the Economic Development, Banking, Insurance & Commerce Committee, which will be chaired by Wilmington Rep. Bryon Short.
In addition, Democrats are separating the former Energy & Natural Resources Committee into two committees, allowing each to give more attention to each subject. Newark Rep. John Kowalko will chair the Energy Committee, and New Castle Rep. Michael Mulrooney will chair the Natural Resources Committee.
Wilmington Rep. Helene Keeley will serve as House co-chairwoman of the Joint Bond Bill Committee, which writes the state’s capital budget.
