Global reinsurance broker U.S. RE Corp. has appointed reinsurance veteran Scott Polkinghorne as senior vice president. He will be based at the company’s headquarters in Pearl River, N.Y.
Polkinghorne is a reinsurance executive with 30 years’ experience in U.S. and international markets including London, Australia and New York. He comes to U.S. RE from Lockton Re where he was responsible for establishing the company’s U.S. reinsurance platform.
His earlier U.S. experience included serving as executive vice president/managing director of JLT Re’s North American property practice; team leader/senior vice president at Benfield Fac Solutions; and executive vice president at John C. Lloyd Reinsurance Brokers where he also served as director of the international division responsible for Australia and as London manager responsible for creating the company’s London office. Earlier in Australia he held senior management assignments with Aon Re-Australia and Alexander Stenhouse.
U.S. RE Corporation provides reinsurance broking services. The company is active in the placement of treaty, program and facultative reinsurance. In addition to the placement of conventional reinsurance, the company also develops and places non-traditional reinsurance mechanisms including finite risk reinsurance and various proprietary products.
