Let the record show that Ms Coakley is a hapless boob. The last 3 Speakers of the Massachusetts House have been indicted…the last 2 while on her watch…the last one just sent to prison for 8 years for taking a bribe…rest assured, not by Ms Coakley, by the Feds. Ms Coakley couldn’t find a crime if it were happening under her dress. She is, however, very adept at giving testimony about things she knows nothing about…namely Healthcare. And since she is a Massachusetts State Employee…she will enjoy fully paid health insurance for life…on the the taxpayer’s dime. You can’t make this stuff up.

Apparently, you don’t know what Socialism is or how it works. If you did, you would know that Romneycare and the PPACA are not Socialist laws.

Just a quick primer for you: Socilaism is where the state owns the businesses or the businesses are collectively owened by the people. In Socilaist systems, goods are produced for direct public use rather than for profit.

Both the Massachusetts healthcare law and the PPACA force people to purchase private health insurance from private insurance companies that are for profit organizations.

I know you love to call people Socialists, Communists, etc.. because it makes you feel good about yourself. But it just shows your ignorance.

Q: What is the one thing that keeps a Liberal Democrat from becoming a Socialist?
        A: The Constitution

        1) To believe that the Liberal Democrats, if left unchecked, would have stopped short of a single-payer system with the government in control of the entire healthcare system shows your naivete.
2)You did get one thing right, they both “force” us to do something.
        3) The next time you give a lesson, check your spelling.

          Your comment is ridiculous.

That’s like saying, the only thing keeping Republicans from being Fascists is the Constitution.

A single payer system is not “government in control of the entire healthcare system.” No one EVER suggested that the government become the employer of all the doctors and that the government take control of hospitals and pharmaceutical companies.

Single payer healthacre just means that the government pays the bills. You know, like Medicare and Medicaid, those HORRIBLE Socialist programs.

But more to the point. The original comment was that Coakly was a Socialist advocating Socialist policies. Again, I say that the PPACA and Romneycare and not Socialist policies. Not even close.

Hence, my reponse stands. The commenter wouldn’t know a Socialist if one came up and bit him.

I find the statement “The attorney general also will discuss what she said are the benefits Massachusetts has experienced.” As a Mass resident, what I have experienced are the highest health insurance premiums in the nation, continuing high annual increases in premiums, long waits in emergency rooms and many specialists not taking new patients. On top of that, Mass Governor Patrick recently traveled to DC to meet with HHS Sebilius to request an ACA waiver from requirements because the state can’t afford the cost. Finally, the state legislature is contemplating legislation to outlaw FFS insurance payments to physicans to control cost. From what I see, if the US states are viewed as laboratories of innovation, no one has moved to Massachusetts because of our health INSURANCE system and many physicians will leave the state if the state dictates how they should be paid. And now we’re going to force this mess on the rest of the nation? Unfortunately, while it is easy to move one’s state residency if a particular state’s laboratory experiment fails, it is very difficult to leave a nation.
