S.H. Smith & Co. Inc., a wholesaler and managing general agent based in Hartford, Conn., appointed Shauntelle Lake as account manager in the large commercial property, casualty and environmental department.
As account manager, Lake will be underwriting small umbrella accounts and will be working on casualty risks. Previously, she worked with Target Insurance Services as an underwriter, where she spent three years gaining extensive experience in underwriting a broad range of professional and general liability coverage.
S.H. Smith & Co. is one of the largest privately owned specialty brokers in the country. The firm has over $200 million in written premium with more than 100 employees. In addition to its home office in Hartford, Connecticut, it has seven regional offices located in Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, and Rhode Island.
The firm has four wholesale divisions under one umbrella: professional and management liability; commercial property, casualty and environmental; in-house underwriting; and the program unit.
