The New York Insurance Association (NYIA) elected its 2013 officers and board of directors at the association’s annual meeting held on Nov. 15.

First vice chair: Bernard Turi, senior vice president, Utica National Insurance Group, Utica, N.Y.
Second vice chair: Steven Coffey, president and chief executive officer, Broome Co-Operative Insurance Company, Vestal, N.Y.
Treasurer: Marlene Benton-Sherwood, president, Fulmont Mutual Insurance Company, Johnstown, N.Y.
The following directors were elected for a three-year term ending Dec. 31, 2015:

The Albany, N.Y.-based New York Insurance Association (NYIA) is a state trade association that has represented the property/casualty insurance industry for 130 years. NYIA is the oldest state property/casualty insurance trade association in the nation, tracing its roots back to 1882. The new NYIA was formed in 1997 by the unification of the New York Insurance Alliance and the New York State Insurance Association.
