N.J.-Based Cumberland Insurance Group Promotes 3 Assistant VPs

The Cumberland Insurance Group, a mutual insurance company based in Bridgeton, N.J., announced three promotions.

The company said Glenn Watkins was promoted from assistant vice president to vice president. Watkins has been with the company since 2000. He currently serves on the Board of the New Jersey Young Insurance Professionals and the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of Southern New Jersey as treasurer.

Kenneth Mailley was also promoted from assistant vice president to vice president. Mailley has been with the company since 2000. Previously he served as the manager of the claims department. He is a current member of the Philadelphia CPCU Society.

And Cheryl Oswald was promoted from assistant vice president to vice president. Oswald has been with Cumberland Insurance for more than 30 years, and as part of Chester County Mutual Insurance Company, which merged with Cumberland Insurance in 2000. Oswald is a member of the Valley Forge Chapter of CPCU, president of the Insurance Field Reps of Delaware, board member of the Sparks Club, and member of the IA&B and DAIAB.

With over 160 employees, 120,000 policyholders, 350 agents, $304 million in total admitted assets, and $124 million in total surplus at the end of 2011, Cumberland is the oldest mutual property/casualty insurer domiciled in New Jersey.
