It is telling that, although our “line-men” respond to mother nature as quickly as humanly possible, we Americans are not equipped to handle much more than 24 hours without our electricity. Perhaps we should learn to be more prepared….whether it’s an ice storm in the northeast or a hurricane in Oklahoma…or earthquake in CA; Mother Nature releases her fury and we must learn to be more patient and better prepared. Imagine living like folks in 3rd world countries where clean water is a luxury, yet we expect it to flow cleanly from our spigots even after a disaster. Time for a reality check folks! Be prepared and teach your children how to be prepared…like a Girl Scout or Boy Scout!
