Well now that he decided to make his name public and pursue a lawsuit he will now suffer suffered “substantial injury” to his “character and eputation” and “mental anguish, loss of future income and loss of earning capacity. He should have just let it go. Only a handful of people would have remembered him and for a very short period of time.
I watched this game where he was napping. The announcers joked about it, but they didn’t say anything outrageous or outlandish. I hope this suit gets tossed immediately!
I listened to the audio clip earlier on a sports radio show this week. The announcers did make fun of him sleeping, but didn’t say any of the disparaging things he is claiming. Most of that came from people commenting about it on twitter. Good luck with that case Mr. Sandman.
I’m sorry I missed the game. I would have loved to hear John Kruk’s comments. Absolutely love that guy! This not so fanatic fan really should have kept his mouth shut. He won’t live it down now that he’s suing. What a dufus.
After Kruk had surgery for testicular cancer, he wore a t-shirt in the locker room that said “be nice to me or I’ll take my ball and go home.” Beautiful attitude.
good ol’ Krukker…still my favorite player on the ’93 Phils.
If you want a good laugh, pick up his book, “I Ain’t an Athlete, Lady…I’m a Ballplayer.” He’s a great storyteller; one of my favorites is the time he was playing in a late that game went past 1:00 AM and since it was past the time when he could order room service at his hotel, he figured they might as well try and win it.
The article text is a little misleading…the announcers didn’t make any disparaging remarks, nor are they being accused of doing so. I believe he is alleging that by them singling him out as part of the broadcast, commentors and other sources online have used those words.
None of this makes his claim valid in my opinion, and I agree that this is an obvious case for a loser pays rule.
That is funny, I admit. However, the entire American League is pretty sad because the Yankees are only 5 games behind Baltimore at the all star break. Yeah, Baltimore is in first.
Oh, for heaven’s sake! Shake it off, man up, and put your big boy pants on. It was funny. Go with it!

Obama will issue and executive order and fix it!

I heard that same audio clip too. You are correct, they did not say the things he claims.
This exactly the kind of case that screams we need a “loser pays” rule.

Don’t care to, but now his sleeping butt will be plastered everywhere. Guess he better leave town.
The really sad thing, are the number of comments on this silly suit, while many important IJ articles have no comments!
Sounds like someone else needs to lighten up a little bit.
There is SO much more ammunition here!
I got sick about reading about how all of this made him sick. Does this mean I can sue him, or the manufacturer of my TV? Or both?
Wasn’t this a Seinfield episode?
Yes. The Lip Reader episode. Classic George.
sheeshhh…yet another example of Why Lawyers Suck.

Why doesn’t he sue the Yankees for not being able to field a team that can keep him interested long enough to keep him awake!
LOL!
