7 Injured in Fire that Damaged 3 Homes in New Jersey

November 23, 2016

Seven people have been injured, four critically, in a fire that swept through three homes in Woodbury, N.J.

One of the homes collapsed after the fire that started around 3:30 a.m. Monday in a home on Mehorter Boulevard and spread to two other homes and several vehicles.

One person reportedly jumped from one of the homes.

Three of the injured were treated and released from a hospital, while four were in critical condition.

Woodbury Fire Chief Randall Gartner says that crews were hampered by downed wires. He told the Courier-Post that it took too long for PSE&G to shut off electrical service in the area.

The electric utility says it shut down electrical lines and shut off gas within an hour.
