Sapient Appoints Flynn to Lead Insurance Practice

Sapient announced that John Flynn joined the company to lead Sapient’s Insurance Practice, a unit of the Financial Services industry group. In this role, Flynn will further develop Sapient’s ability to deliver business-enabling technology solutions that address the distribution and service challenges faced by leading insurers, reinsurers, and producers.

The Insurance Practice will leverage Sapient’s unique global distributed delivery model, which combines localized business expertise and distributed implementation skills, to provide explicit business value to clients in the distribution, underwriting, service, and claims disciplines.

Flynn brings more than 15 years of insurance expertise to Sapient. Prior to joining the company, he was a principal and head of insurance at BusinessEdge Solutions, a privately held e-business industry integration firm. Flynn spent 13 years with American International Group (AIG), most recently as the senior vice president of European Operations and Systems in AIG’s international division, American International Underwriters. During his time in the industry, he developed valuable insight through diverse roles in servicing, operations management, and information technology, both domestically and internationally.

Sapient has worked with insurance leaders such as AXA Japan, ING Groep NV, Lloyd’s of London, Manulife Financial, Massachusetts Mutual Financial Group, and Royal & Sun Alliance. The company’s Insurance Practice delivers custom and reusable solutions that address the strategic business challenges facing the insurance industry, including: Multi-channel integration, including virtual agency, Internet direct distribution, and producer connectivity solutions; Policy administration, including rating and rules engines; Commission strategies; Self-service functionality; Mobile adjuster, claims exchanges, loss control prevention, and first notice of loss tools; and E-business strategy through extranet and Internet site enhancement and consolidation.
