Platinum Underwriters Holdings, Ltd. announced that Justin Cressall has been appointed as Treasurer. He was formerly with KPMG LLP, where he held various positions serving the firm’s insurance, reinsurance and financial services clientele.
Bermuda-based Platinum is the successor company for the St. Paul’s reinsurance units, which were spun-off last year. Part of Cressal’s responsibilities as Treasurer will be to lead Platinum’s investor relations function.
Platinum CFO William Robbie stated: “We are pleased to welcome Justin to the Platinum finance team. Many of us have worked with Justin in the past and we have been consistently impressed with his financial acumen and professionalism. We believe that he will make many important contributions as we continue to establish Platinum as a leading property and casualty reinsurer.”
Cressall most recently served as a Director in KPMG’s Transactions Services practice in New York where he advised financial services companies with respect to mergers and acquisitions, and as a manager in the assurance services group, providing audit and advisory services to insurers and reinsurers. He was previously employed by KPMG’s Bermuda practice where he provided assurance services to clients in the insurance, banking and mutual funds industries.
