eReinsure(TM), a provider of e-commerce technology for negotiating reinsurance, announced the appointment of James Low as Director of Business Development, responsible for developing the company’s client base with special emphasis on reinsurance companies.
Low, who’s also expected to contribute his legal and contractual expertise, will be based in the company’s New York office. CEO Igor Best-Devereux, stated said, “Jim brings to our senior management team over 20 years of legal experience including his last eight years concentration in the insurance and reinsurance business. Along with his understanding of the reinsurance business in the US and European Markets, Jim has a tremendous breadth of knowledge regarding e-commerce for reinsurance, both the process requirements and information management needs. His strong reinsurance background will be a real asset for our clients. He will work closely with them to connect their transaction, work flow, and management requirements with the value of web-enabled reinsurance transactions.”
Low joins eReinsure from Swiss Re, where he was most recently Senior Manager of the eBusiness Unit for the Americas Division. He was formerly based in Zurich as Underwriting Counsel for the reinsurance of US business placed in London. Prior to that position, he was Legal Counsel for Insurance Business in Swiss Re New Markets, also in Zurich.
