Bermuda-based Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. announced that its Bermuda subsidiary, Endurance Specialty Insurance Ltd., has hired two key leaders in excess casualty: Shannon Totten and Cotina Forth-Albuoy.

The insurers’ Excess Casualty department, headed by Executive VP David Cabral, provides third-party liability coverage for all industry groups, providing either direct insurance or reinsurance to single-parent captives. “I am delighted to welcome Shannon and Cotina to Endurance,” Cabral stated. “Their track records and commitment to structured underwriting fit very well with Endurance’s overall approach.”

Prior to joining Endurance, Totten spent five years in the Excess Casualty division of Starr Excess Bermuda, where she underwrote high layer, large limit excess programs for predominantly global and national clients in a wide variety of industries. Before relocating to Bermuda with Starr, she marketed and underwrote lead umbrella business on behalf of American Home Assurance Company in New York.

Forth-Albuoy joins Endurance from Allied World Assurance Company Ltd. where she served as Assistant Vice President in the Excess Casualty Division. She has over 13 years of insurance experience. While at AWAC, she focused on the underwriting of Pharmaceutical and Medical Product accounts, predominantly for Fortune 500 companies.
