ACE Europe Forms Electronic Disaster Recovery Service with BELFOR

September 16, 2003

London-based ACE Europe announced that it has joined forces with international damage management experts BELFOR to offer customers a disaster recovery service, as part of its new electronics insurance product.

“The optional service, which is unique in the insurance industry, enables companies within the electronics industry to limit loss and mitigate damage after a disaster, and enhances the already comprehensive product offering from ACE Europe,” said the bulletin.

It described BELFOR as “the largest damage management company in the world,” and noted that BELFOR UK has been operating for over 30 years, “serving the insurance market and their policyholders with professional disaster restoration services in the event of fires, floods, explosions and oil spills.”
.
Alistair Macintyre, ACE’s product development manager stated: “Our research showed that one of the main concerns to these companies was the speed with which they could resume operations after a loss. BELFOR can be on site within a few hours of an incident and have the electronics restoration skills to offer a real benefit to our clients.

“Operating in a highly competitive market using expensive, sophisticated and often purpose built specialist equipment, electronics companies need to know they can contain any damage and resume normal service quickly and efficiently. As a leader in disaster recovery, the services offered by BELFOR deliver this reassurance.”

ACE Europe said the new product “has the flexibility to adapt to individual company’s needs and includes, in addition to property and liability cover, the option to add machinery breakdown, D&O, and accident and health cover. Financial loss and professional indemnity may also be considered.”
