Carvill, a leading reinsurance intermediary in Specialty business, announced the launch of Carvill Re, to provide a “dedicated focus to expanding Carvill’s relationships in the London reinsurance markets.”
Carvill said the new operation would “concentrate on all classes of the London reinsurance market and worldwide retrocession, including Marine.”
John Cavanagh has been appointed Chairman of Carvill Re, and Andrew Carvill will serve as Managing Director. “Cavanagh has over 30 years experience in the London reinsurance market, whilst Carvill has been actively involved on key projects with underwriters in London and the US. Nick Foden-Pattinson, a Senior Director well versed in this area of business, will also add his expertise to the development team,” the announcement said.
“Carvill Re is a significant element in the recent reorganization of Carvill’s operations,” Cavanagh explained. “We are a well-established player in the London market and have a long history of developing innovative solutions. Our intention in establishing a separate operation is to make clear the strength of our commitment to London, and from a personal standpoint, I am committed to actively building this business and excited about the new opportunities this venture will present.”
