Zurich Financial Services Group announced the appointment of Alan Fairhead (45) as Chief Underwriting Officer – Global Corporate, effective immediately. He will report to Geoff Riddell, CEO – Global Corporate, and Tim Mitchell, Zurich’s global chief underwriting officer.
Fairhead joined Zurich in 1999 after 21 years in the insurance business in a variety of roles covering casualty and property lines of business. Since April 2004, he has been Managing Director of Global Corporate UK (formerly Zurich London).
“As underwriting discipline remains a key focus across the Group, Alan Fairhead’s new role will encompass responsibility for the continuous improvement of Global Corporate’s underwriting performance, ensuring that consistent practices and standards are applied across the Business Division,” said the announcement. “In his new role, Alan Fairhead will also be involved in key transactions across Global Corporate, which means he will continue to work closely with customers and brokers.”
