JLT Names Rush as New Group Finance Director

July 6, 2006

The U.K.’s largest broker, Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group, announced that George Stuart-Clarke will stand down as Finance Director and be replaced by Jim Rush, immediately following publication of the firm’s 2006 interim results.

Rush, 45, is an Australian Chartered Accountant. He joins JLT from Jardine Matheson Group (the Asian-based conglomerate) where he has held various senior roles including, most recently, Group Treasurer. Prior to joining Jardine Matheson, he was with PricewaterhouseCoopers for 12 years.

Although Clarke will stand down from the board, he will remain a member of the Group’s Executive Committee, responsible for special projects reporting directly to Dominic Burke, Group Chief Executive.

Burke commented: “George has made a great contribution to the Group over many years and will continue to do so in his new role. Jim has a proven track record having held senior management positions in a very successful and major international Group, I am sure Jim’s experience will enable him quickly to make a significant contribution as a key member of the JLT team”.

JLT Chairman Geoffrey Howe noted: “George has been with the Group since 1991, initially as a non-executive director and from 1994 as the Group’s Finance Director. During that time, George has played an important role in the successful development of JLT and I would like to thank him for his substantial contribution.

“We conducted a thorough internal and external selection procedure, including the appointment of an executive recruitment agency and during this process it became clear that we had the ideal candidate in Jim Rush for this important role,” he continued. “Jim not only brings with him an existing knowledge of JLT but importantly he also has a very good understanding of business in the Asia Pacific region; a region of the world which today represents a significant part of the JLT Group”.
