Marsh UK Makes 6 New ‘Public Sector’ Appointments

Marsh UK announced that it- has strengthened its UK Public Sector Practice with the appointment of six additional risk specialists. Marsh listed the Personnel as follows:
Bob Ellison – a business risk consultant to help clients analyze, develop and deliver bespoke solutions to their various risk consulting needs. He will also handle Research &Development of “new risk needs emerging from within the public sector.”
Milan Milovanovic – joins Marsh from Hertz, where he was the European and Middle East Risk and Insurance Manager. He will focus on developing business in the southern region and act as a client executive on selected accounts.
Cliffe Crowther – will head the Practice in the North of England and Scotland, based in Manchester. He has “extensive experience of risk issues in the higher education sector,” said the bulletin, and will assume a client executive role for key clients in the region. He previously served as the Client Service Director for Manchester at Marsh.
Karim Sharrif – becomes Client Executive for central government, local authority and emergency services clients in London and the Home Counties. He joins Marsh from Aon, having previously worked at JLT.
Julia Smith joins the Cardiff client advisory team from housing association Seren Group and will handle technical queries from our clients across the Southern Practice, as well as broking renewals and associated administration.
Craig Murray has been appointed as Risk Executive for the Northern Region. He will work alongside clients’ risk and insurance managers to help identify and address risk management issues.

Brian Shaw, Marsh’s UK Public Sector Practice Leader stressed the high “professional standards” the broker maintains with its “public sector clients, insurers and colleagues”. He said the “new recruits” would help maintain the firm’s leading position in the field.

Shaw also noted that Marsh’s public sector clients are “are increasingly looking for expert risk management advice to cope with the public sector reforms that continue present them with significant challenges.” The additional personnel will add expertise and depth to Marsh’s coverage of the sector.

Marsh noted that its “Public Sector Practice comprises of 26 dedicated risk and insurance professionals and revolves around two Centers of Excellence based in Cardiff and Newcastle, which act as ‘hubs’ in the south and north of the UK. The Practice offers risk management and insurance advice to a wide range of public sector organizations, such as local authorities, fire and police authorities, social housing, central government and government agencies.”
