Flagstone Reinsurance Holdings Limited announced that Miguel Barrales has been appointed CEO of Flagstone Underwriters Latin America Ltd. A.I. He joins Flagstone from Swiss Re where he was Vice President, Client Management for P/C and Life & Health Reinsurance business, covering Global companies in Latin America and the Spanish speaking Caribbean.
“Rafael Saer, who previously occupied the CEO role, will be leaving the company in January to pursue other interests,” said the bulletin.
Flagstone also announced that Edward Herrera has been hired as Senior Underwriter for the Puerto Rico office. He joins the Group from Everest Re where he was Property Treaty Underwriting Manager for the Latin American Region. He previously served as a Property Treaty Underwriter for Le Mans Re, covering the Central America and Panama region.
CEO David Brown praised the “high caliber” of both men, and said their joining Flagstone “reinforces our long term commitment to Puerto Rico and to the Latin American and Caribbean markets.”
