Marsh has appointed Simon Curtis as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Marsh UK. He is based in London, and will report to Martin South, CEO Marsh UK.
Curtis succeeds Ian Clarke, who has accepted a senior management position within Marsh’s International Division. Clarke will continue to be a member of the Board of Marsh Ltd and will also serve on the International Executive Group.
Curtis joins Marsh from Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT). He became part of JLT management following the broker’s acquisition of the Burke Ford Group of companies where he was the Managing Director of the general insurance business. At JLT he held several senior executive positions, both in the UK and in North America.
