ACE Names Furgueson President, Multinational Client Group for Int’l. P/C

The ACE Group announced the appointment of Michael Furgueson to the newly created post of President, Multinational Client Group, ACE Overseas General. He will be responsible for leading the company’s commercial property and casualty insurance capabilities targeted to large multinational clients based outside North America.

Furgueson will be based in New York and reports to John Keogh, CEO, ACE Overseas General. He will work with ACE’s international product line and regional management to deliver the company’s insurance products and services tailored to “the unique and often complex needs of multinational companies based in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia Pacific,” said the bulletin. “He will also coordinate the service capabilities of ACE’s international network for the benefit of multinational clients based in North America.”

Keogh noted: “The global trend of companies expanding beyond their own borders continues apace, and as a result, they need insurance protection and services from an insurer with proven global capabilities. At ACE, we are committed to leveraging our global platform to be a market leader in providing insurance solutions to the complex needs of large multinational companies.”

He added that Furgueson had “demonstrated that he has the global industry experience and leadership skills to further develop ACE’s capabilities and bring to bear our operations around the globe to optimally deliver those services required by our multinational clients.”

Furgueson has more than 25 years of diverse experience in the property and casualty insurance industry. He had been Executive Vice President, International Commercial and Multinational Lines, since 2007. Furgueson joined ACE in 2002 as Executive Vice President, Financial Lines. In 2004, he was named President and COO, ACE Europe, and oversaw the expansion of ACE into new territories, including Switzerland and Poland, and the introduction of new products throughout the European region. He became President of ACE’s U.K. and Ireland business in 2005.

Furgueson joined ACE from the Financial Lines division of Kemper Insurance Companies, and previously served in a range of U.S. and international management assignments with Chubb. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC and is a past board member of the International Underwriting Association of London.”
