Marsh’s UK National Corporate Names New Leadership Team for Scotland

Marsh’s UK office announced senior appointments to its Scottish National Corporate business, which provides risk and insurance advice for mid to large size corporations. They follow Marsh’s acquisition of HSBC Insurance Brokers, completed on April first [See IJ web site – . https://www.insurancejournal.com/news/international/2010/04/01/108646.htm].

The new leadership team will “drive growth across the combined operations in Scotland, centring on the firm’s hubs in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow,” said the bulletin.

Audrey Corfield has been appointed as Leader of the Scotland, Northern Ireland and Isle of Man Region, reporting to Joe Grogan, UK CEO, National Corporate Practice. She was previously Head of Marsh’s office in Glasgow. She will be succeeded in that position by Mark Turner, who was formerly with HSBC Insurance Brokers.

Gordon Duncan has been appointed as Deputy Regional Head. He will also take on responsibility as Head of the Edinburgh office and will oversee the growth and development of the firm’s Edinburgh operations.

Ron Thomson has been appointed Regional Client Service Director and remains chairman of Marsh’s Aberdeen office. Former HSBC Insurance Brokers colleague Paul McGhee has been appointed as Regional Development Director for Scotland.

John Nicholson will remain Chairman of Marsh Scotland, Northern Ireland and Isle of Man and a member of the Marsh UK Board with responsibility for risk and governance.

The acquisition has given us outstanding opportunities to grow our Scottish business and to provide enhanced risk and insurance services for clients across the country.”
