Northbridge Insurance, which comprises the existing “broker companies” of Lombard, Markel and Commonwealth, is preparing for the combination of the three into a united brand as of January 1st, 2012.
In connection with the amalgamation Northbridge announced that Jean-Francois Béliveau will be joining its team as Executive Vice-President, Quebec. He is “a well respected and experienced insurance executive who knows the Quebec market place very well,” said the bulletin. He joins Northbridge from AXA Insurance where he has led its Commercial Lines operations since 2005.
Béliveau will be “responsible for developing growth strategies for our business in Quebec and to create strong relationships with our key brokers partners to address the needs of our mutual customers in a pro-active and competent manner.”
Northbridge also announced that Marc Duguay has been promoted to Vice-President of Underwriting. The announcement also noted that Richard Lapierre, who announced his retirement plans earlier this year, will support the two men “in the transition into their expanded roles and then retire by year-end.”
