Rajab Appointed Aon Benfield’s New CEO for Middle East, North Africa

March 12, 2012

Aon Benfield, the global reinsurance intermediary and capital advisor of Aon Corp., announced that Ahmed Rajab, an executive with 15 years of experience in the reinsurance industry, will become CEO, Middle East & North Africa.

The bulletin noted that this “is a new appointment.” Rajab will report to Aon Benfield’s co-CEOs of EMEA, Richard Posgate and Alan Gregory.

He most recently served as Regional Director Middle East & North Africa at Willis Re, and has previously worked as a Middle East treaty underwriter at reinsurer SOREMA, which was acquired by reinsurer SCOR in 2001, and as a broker at intermediary Gras Savoye Re in Paris, then Willis Re, since 2002.

Rajab graduated in Business Administration at the American University of Paris, and holds a diploma from the Institut Superieur de Reassurance.

Posgate welcomed Rajab to Aon, noting that “he has a wealth of experience in this market, and he will help us to realize the significant opportunities to grow our business and better serve our clients in the region. Many countries in the Middle East and North Africa have robust and growing economies, and we anticipate being able to bring our capabilities to stimulate further development.”
