London-based Lloyd’s broker Cooper Gay & Co Ltd, the UK half of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford (CGSC], announced that Peter Dalton has been appointed Head of Risk Management, with immediate effect.
Dalton started his insurance career in 1987. He joined the Cooper Gay marine claims team in 2001, and was appointed Claims Director in 2006. In his new role, Dalton will work alongside the existing CGSC Group’s risk management team, with responsibility for developing the existing framework and strategies.
He has a Masters in Insurance and Risk Management from CASS Business School and is a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
Cooper Gay CEO Sam Hovey noted that Dalton “is widely recognized for his insurance and operational knowledge,” and expressed his delight that he “has accepted the new position. His leadership of the claims department proved to us that Peter is capable of implementing new strategies and initiatives, both in the UK and globally; expanding his responsibilities was the natural progression.”
