Willis Group Holdings announced that Nils Arne Fagerli has been appointed CEO of Willis Norway AS, effective immediately. He is based in Oslo and reports to Adam Garrard, CEO of Europe (Willis International).
Fagerli joins Willis from GIEK Credit Insurance Ltd., the largest credit insurer in the Norwegian market, where he was CEO. He has more than 18 years experience in the insurance industry, and has held a number of top senior management positions in broking, underwriting and sales. Past roles include Executive Vice President and Director of Corporate Clients at financial services firm, Gjensidige Forsikring AS.
Willis Norway employs 134 Associates and has four offices in Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger and Larvik where its key business lines are Marine, Non-Marine and Employee Benefits. Willis has had a presence in the country since 1867.
Garrard cited Fagerli’s “wealth of experience in the insurance industry and excellent knowledge of the local marketplace,” as factors that will “further strengthen our position in the European market, and help us drive growth in one of the region’s more resilient economies.”
