Lockton Names Gusmão CEO for Brazil

June 20, 2013

Lockton announced the appointment of Tony Gusmão as CEO of its Brazilian businesses. He has more than 20 years of experience, primarily in Employee Benefits, having run consulting and actuarial firms in South Africa and the UK. Longtime Lockton Brazil executive Wilson Gozzi has been named chairman of Lockton’s operations in Brazil.

“Our clients in Brazil will benefit from the leadership and expertise that Tony Gusmão and Wilson Gozzi offer,” said Mike Hammond, chairman of Lockton’s international operations. “We will expand the range of risk management and employee benefits solutions that we offer to local Brazilian clients as well as our multinational clients operating in Brazil.”

Gozzi indicated that Gusmão’s “high level of energy and a consistent focus on solving client problems” would help grow Lockton’s business in Brazil.

In addition Lockton noted that, according to recent studies “Brazil will become the 8th largest insurance market in the world by 2020. This, together with an increasing level of sophistication in the market and local demand for risk and employee benefit solutions, made Gusmão’s decision to join Lockton in Brazil, in his words, ‘a no-brainer and a very exciting opportunity.'”

Lockton has been operating in Brazil since 2006, with two principle offices in São Paulo and Rio de Janiero, specializing in credit risk and aviation insurance solutions, as well as employee benefits.
