September 4, 2014

Altitude Risk Partners, the global aviation and space underwriting business, announced the appointment of former broker Charles Hollingworth as an underwriter.

Hollingworth joined from Aon Risk Solutions where he was a products and aerospace broker. He will work with the London-based team to develop and underwrite Altitude’s portfolio of quality worldwide aerospace risks.

The bulletin noted that “Altitude was launched earlier this year as the first underwriting cell to utilize Castel’s club-style MGA formation platform. With capacity from Barbican Insurance Group, HDI-Gerling Industrie Versicherung AG and Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. on a quota share basis, Altitude underwrites airlines, manufacturing products, general aviation, war and space business.”

Tim Wright, partner at Altitude Risk Partners welcomed Hollingworth to its team, describing him as a “key member of our growing underwriting team,” and noting that his “experience of broking a variety of aviation and aerospace insurance risks has given him a broad and deep knowledge of this specialist sector. He also brings valuable industry relationships built up over the years. We are confident that Charles’ transition from broking to underwriting will be a great success.”

Hollingworth said: “Having previously placed a wide range of aerospace risks as a broker my aim is to bring a different perspective to Altitude. The team’s service orientated approach is also very appealing and I believe this will help us to rapidly become a world-renown specialist underwriting business.”
