XL Appoints Turner as Lead Consultant for Complex Accounts Team

January 30, 2015

XL Group announced it has appointed Rob Turner as lead consultant to establish its Complex Accounts capabilities in London.

The company said it set up its Complex Accounts team in 2012 because it saw the opportunity and the market requirement for a new, innovative and dedicated approach to serving complex risks especially for companies and investors pursuing new ventures and business models.

Jason Harris, chief executive, International Property & Casualty Insurance at XL Group said: “After success in the US and across Continental Europe, London is the next strategic focus for implementing our Complex Accounts’ business model. We think this team is a real differentiator for us and we believe the solutions it provides are a key enabler for clients embarking on untested and new ventures.”

Joachim Walch, head of underwriting, Complex Accounts in the company’s International Casualty unit, said: “This team’s remit is to provide bespoke risk solutions for innovative companies which are often pushing the boundaries and have found that standard insurance coverage has not met their needs.”

Turner joins XL Group on March 16 from AIG Europe Limited where he held the position of head of alternative solutions. He brings with him over 20 years of experience across insurance, reinsurance and capital markets.
