Reid to Become CEO of UK Retail at Arthur J. Gallagher

Arthur J. Gallagher announced that Stuart Reid will join Arthur J. Gallagher’s international brokerage operation as CEO for UK Retail.

Reid will take up the position at Arthur J. Gallagher later this year, subject to regulatory approval, and will use his 25 years’ industry experience to oversee the integration of the recent UK retail broker acquisitions and develop the division’s growth strategy.

Reid was appointed executive chairman of Bluefin in July 2013 following five years as chief executive officer. He joined Bishop Skinner in 1986 before leaving and co-founding Stuart Alexander in 1993. Stuart Alexander was acquired by AXA UK in 2007, along with Smart & Cook, Layton Blackham, The Davis Group and SBJ UK and became Bluefin Insurance Services. Reid is also deputy chairman of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) as well as the chair of the Chartered Insurance Institute’s broking faculty board.

*On 19 February 2015, Arthur J. Gallagher announced that Graham Chilton had been appointed CEO of the company’s UK-based international brokerage division, subject to regulatory approval. He will be responsible for leading Gallagher’s international brokerage operations and also will become a member of the senior leadership team of parent company Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
