Cooper Gay Appoints Hacker as Group Chief Innovation Officer

Cooper Gay, the global reinsurance, wholesale and specialty broker, announced the appointment of Peter Hacker as group chief innovation officer. He takes up his role with immediate effect reporting to Steve Hearn, group CEO.

Hacker will develop risk and advisory solutions for businesses and their boards, with the aim of digitizing all aspects of operations, said a statement issued by London-based Cooper Gay*.

The company said that Hacker also will provide strategic and operational support to address network, M&A and business planning revenue opportunities. With two decades of leadership experience, he is a multi‐lingual, international expert in the field of cyber security, cybercrime and enterprise risk management, Cooper Gay continued.

Hacker is also co-founder and partner at Distinction Global (“Red Team Cyber”), a specialized advisory unit of the Cyber Crime Institute, an independent global think tank dealing with aspects of cyber crime and cyber security.

He has worked “as an expert for numerous international organizations, insurers and brokers” to develop customized strategies, policies and risk transfer mechanisms for Fortune 500 companies, regional and international organizations and individuals, the company indicated.

“Appointing an individual of Peter’s caliber is a statement of intent and offers a glimpse of the future ambitions for our business,” said Hearn.

“He has had an exceptional career to date. He has consistently broken new ground, developing strategies and initiatives which have had a profound business impact and have been recognized across the market as representative of a new standard,” he added.
