Ironshore International Names Eickstädt as Head of Direct & Facultative Property

Ironshore International has named Dr. Jörg Eickstädt as head of Direct and Facultative Property, effective immediately. He will be responsible for underwriting Ironshore’s direct and facultative portfolio for U.S. and international property risks.

Eickstädt will be based in London, reporting to Nick Wills, senior vice president, Global Property, Bermuda.

Eickstädt joins Ironshore from Zurich Insurance Co. in London where he was head of International Property for Global Corporate (UK). He led the worldwide Fortune 500 property portfolio with authority to underwrite co-insurance and reinsurance coverage for complex global property risks.

Eickstädt’s professional career in underwriting multi-national property risk spans nearly 20 years, serving in various management roles overseeing captives, risk engineering and risk management cover worldwide. Most recently, he held senior underwriter and team leadership positions with Corporate Insurance Partner, the D&F unit of Munich Re in Munich, and the Multinational & Facultative Division of Hannover Re in Germany.

“Dr. Eickstädt has proven technical and relationship management skills,” noted Wills. “His strong cross-cultural expertise, combined with in-depth experience in developing programs for challenging commercial risk, will further strengthen the Ironshore global property team.”

Eickstädt holds a PhD in International Insurance Law and is fluent in English and German.
