Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired W. E. Kingsley Co. Inc. of Lexington, Ky., and McRory & Co. and Harman & McRory Co., both of Seattle, Wash. The Itasca, Ill.-based brokerage did not disclose terms of the acquisitions.
Kingsley Co. provides wholesale insurance services to several hundred retail insurance brokers in Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio and Indiana. President Ronald Smedley and the Kingsley staff will merge with Gallagher’s existing Lexington wholesale operations, Equity Insurance Managers.
This facility is under the direction of Joel Cavaness, president of Risk Placement Services, Gallagher’s nationwide wholesale insurance operations.
McRory & Co., founded in 1973, and Harman & McRory Co., organized in 1990, are full-service retail insurance agencies which specialize in risk management and commercial property/casualty insurance services for their clients in the Northwest.
Edwin McRory, David Harman and their associates will combine with Gallagher’s current Seattle operations, which are under the direction of Clark Johnson, Gallagher’s Northwest regional manager.
