American Wholesale Insurance Group (www.amwins.com), based in Charlotte, N.C., announced the formation of a new wholesale brokerage operation in Chicago, Ill., to be led by Don Alberico.

With over 17 years of wholesale brokerage background, Alberico comes to American Wholesale from Aon’s Swett & Crawford, where he was senior VP. Prior to his five years with Swett & Crawford, Alberico spent twelve years with Tri-City Brokerage followed by six years on the retail agency side of the business.
