Dennis Silvia, most recently of CNA Insurance Co.’s group captive practice, leads the operations at newly founded Cedar Consulting. The Chagrin Falls, Ohio-based firm will offer captive consulting and feasibility study services, including the placement of programs with fronting carriers, reinsurance companies and captives.
Silvia is a 15-year veteran of the captive insurance arena and holds both the CPCU and AAI designations. He earned a master’s degree in management with an emphasis in alternative insurance products. Silvia has been successful in starting captive programs in several industries, including the nursing home, transportation, taxi cab, garment and construction industries.
Cedar Consulting is affiliated with Cedar Management Ltd. in Hamilton, Bermuda. Cedar Management is a licensed captive manager which is managed by President Tom McMahon Vice President Michael Larkin.
