American Motorcycle Assn. and Nationwide Form Partnership

The American Motorcyclist Association and Columbus-Ohio-based Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company have announced a new partnership. The new affiliation makes Nationwide the AMA’s “Motorcycle Insurer of Choice” and brings new benefits to the AMA’s 270,000-plus members, according to a written news release issued jointly by both organizations.

Under the terms of the three-year agreement, Nationwide will offer AMA members its Rev & Ride(SM) motorcycle coverage at discounted rates. In addition, new Nationwide motorcycle policyholders that aren’t members of the AMA will receive a one-year AMA membership. The partnership also offers Nationwide opportunities to sponsor major AMA events.

“We’ve been looking for a partnership like this for a long time, and we’re thrilled to be working with Nationwide,” said AMA Chief Executive Officer Patricia DiPietro. “The insurance discounts will be a great benefit for AMA members, and Nationwide’s commitment to helping the AMA grow is a testament to the power of this program.”

“Our exclusive partnership with the AMA is one way we’re promoting our Rev & Ride coverage,” said Steve Rasmussen, president and chief operating officer of Nationwide Property & Casualty Operations. “We’ve teamed up with the AMA because it’s the country’s largest association of true motorcycle enthusiasts, and that gives Nationwide a clear advantage in a very competitive marketplace.”

Nationwide offers an “all-on-one” policy through Rev & Ride. A single standard policy contract covers up to 12 motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATVs, trikes, sidecars, scooters, snowmobiles, and trailers. Nationwide has special service and claim centers dedicated only to these vehicles, staffed by experts with specific knowledge about motorcycles.

Already available in Ariz., Ill., Ind., Iowa, Mich., Neb., Ohio, Penn., and Wis., Nationwide’s Rev & Ride coverage will be available in most states by the end of the year. The coverage is being sold through Nationwide Insurance, Allied Insurance, Titan Auto Insurance and Victoria Insurance.
