Great American Insurance Group’s Executive Liability Division recently announced the opening of a new branch office in Toronto, Canada. The Executive Liability Division adds Michael Shore, CRM and Oren Schemool, MBA who will specialize in underwriting directors’ and officers’ liability, employment practices
liability, fiduciary liability and other professional liability insurance
products for companies and organizations operating in all ten Canadian provinces and the Yukon, Northwest and Nunavut territories.
According to the company’s written statement, Michael Shore, underwriting manager, brings over six years of insurance experience in specialty lines coverage to Great American Insurance Group. Prior to joining Great American, Shore worked with leading specialty lines carriers underwriting both financial Institutions and commercial risks. He also has experience on the brokerage side, working in the financial institution industry practice with an international brokerage firm. Shore holds the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation.
Oren Schemool, underwriting manager,has seven years of industry
experience in directors’ and officers’ liability insurance, with a focus on
commercial and financial institutions. Prior to joining Great American,
Schemool held the position of senior underwriter at a leading multi-national property & casualty insurance carrier.
The Executive Liability Division has been providing professional liability insurance for Canadian risks since 1996 through its main underwriting office located in Schaumburg, Ill. Agents and brokers will be free to submit business to either the Toronto or Schaumburg office. The Division also has regional offices in Chicago, New Jersey and San Diego.
Great American Insurance Group’s operations are based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and are engaged primarily in property and casualty insurance, focusing on specialty commercial products for businesses, and in the sale of annuities, supplemental insurance and life products.
