September 6, 2006

SeibertKeck, one of Northeast Ohio’s largest, independent, full-service business insurance agencies, has announced that Richard Hite will now lead the organization as its chairman and chief executive officer. Hite has nearly 25 years experience in the insurance industry, according to the company’s written statement.

Under Hite’s leadership, the company will focus on the expansion of product and service offerings through strategic partnerships and acquisitions. Other key objectives include exploring opportunities for the perpetuation of the company’s leadership and working to evolve the SeibertKeck brand to better reflect the company’s unique position within the marketplace.

“It’s important for this company to recruit leaders within our industry today, who will direct the company as time goes on,” said Hite. “Finding those who will propel SeibertKeck forward and foster the growth and prosperity of the company is a challenging and rewarding process for me.

“Ultimately, I’m working to find the right balance of people, while striving to cultivate new business opportunities and strengthen existing client relationships. Our goal is to offer our clients a robust variety of insurance solutions that effectively meet their needs. I hope to set a strong foundation that enables these objectives to continually become realities.”

Hite began his career as a producer at Leonard Insurance in Canton, Ohio. He moved up the ranks within the company during his 17-year tenure, eventually becoming chief financial officer. Hite was then recruited by SeibertKeck seven years ago to help the company reach its goals for expansion. He has since been involved in several key acquisitions that have allowed the company to service a larger area.

“We’d like SeibertKeck to move into other segments and continue to expand our service area. We hope to grow from a company of 50 people to at least 300 within the next 10 years,” said Hite. “The team we currently have in place is primed for the challenge. We’ll keep adding key players who will make the team stronger, so we can service our clients better.”

Hite is a member of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) and the Independent Insurance Agents Association. He’s a past graduate of Leadership Akron and serves on the boards of Child Guidance & Family Solutions in Summit County, as well as Pegasus Farms. Hite has also taught classes on insurance and risk management at The University of Akron.

SeibertKeck identifies itself as one of the region’s largest, independent, full-service business insurance agencies. The company provides commercial and institutional property and casualty insurance, security bonding, professional liability, and life and benefits insurance.
