Neb. Physicians Mutual Partners to Educate Consumers on Life Insurance

September 12, 2006

Physicians Mutual is partnering with the Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE) to support Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM) this September, an industry-wide initiative aimed at educating the public about the importance of financially protecting their loved ones.

“At Physicians Mutual, we are proud to join this national effort,” said Physicians Mutual Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Rob Reed. “With approximately 68 million Americans having no life insurance coverage at all, the need to help individuals understand the importance for adequate life insurance is clear.”

According to the company’s written statement, Physicians Mutual is supporting this initiative through marketing communication efforts including direct marketing promotions and an awareness program to company agents. In addition, the company will also host an educational seminar for its employees and their families on the importance of life insurance.

“During Life Insurance Awareness Month, we are continuing our commitment of doing the right thing,” said Reed. “Physicians Mutual encourages consumers to meet with qualified life insurance agents or financial planners who can assess their life insurance needs and determine the type of life insurance that best fits their needs and budget.”

Physicians Mutual Insurance Company and Physicians Life Insurance Company, a member of the Physicians Mutual family, provide a full portfolio of health and life insurance products, as well as financial products. The combined companies have assets of more than $2 billion.
