Willis North America, a unit of Willis Group Holdings, the global insurance broker with operations in Chicago, has appointed Jana Rucker as director of Marketing for Willis Commercial Network – North America. Rucker will be responsible for leading the promotional marketing, communications and industry relations activities for the unit.

The appointment is part of Willis’ strategy to serve the small commercial account niche and provide products and services to the small to mid-size retail agent segment through the platform. She will report to Ralph Blust, executive vice president of Willis Commercial Network.

Rucker comes to Willis from Crump Insurance Services Inc., where she was vice president of Marketing Communications for seven years. Prior to Crump Insurance Services Inc., she worked for 15 years in the telecommunications industry in various senior sales and marketing leadership roles with Sprint and AT&T.

Willis Commercial Network provides services to independent agents, allowing them to leverage the benefits and support of its national carrier relationships and product offerings. Through its Insurance Noodle technology platform, it offers fully online processing of small commercial accounts for business owners, auto, workers compensation, professional liability, umbrella and others. A newly expanded and enhanced version of the Insurance Noodle will be launching this summer.

Rucker will also be responsible for launching the new Insurance Noodle online platform to the retail agent marketplace, growing the client base through increased awareness of the capabilities across the industry, and coordinating marketing strategies to meet growth goals of Commercial Network business units.
