I have a complaint. On 1/28/11 I purchased a 2007 Dodge Pickup. On 1/29/11 I went to my local State Farm Insurance to purchase insurance for that vehicle. I was told that I had to pay for 2 months, which I knew I would have to do. I also told them that in was going to pay for the insurance for the month of January on Acct #0440905222, which this vehicle was added on to. We pay monthly. My son gets his monthly bill and it says that he did not pay for January. I call the agent and was told that we were charged for the whole month of December on this new vehicle, which I do not fee is right. We should have been charged for the only amount of days that was left in the month. My son was charged $237.53 which now includes the January payment.
My family has been with State Farm Insurance for over 36 years and have numerous vehicles insured. Is this is the way you do business and treat your long time customers.
I look forward to hearing your response

Maybe you should contact your freakin’ carrier instead of posting your complaint on this forum. Do you think the CEO of State Farm will read this and send you the money out of pocket? You’re an idiot.

I would switch to a different carrier. St Farm is typically more expensive. I know you have had then for a very long time but maybe it is time to say bah-bye!

The article states employees left the company. This was due to SF closing offices throughout the country. While the company offered relocation the majority of employees elected to take severance. One would expect service to suffer. I guess you can ask the customer about how good the service is going. Just another big company showing long term employees the door. Like a good neighbor.

David-thanks for such a balanced article. Are you working for the
Illinois Chamber of Commerce or is this article from them? State Farm has been on attrition, as has the entire insurance industry. They are not hiring because the economy is improving, they are hiring because they went to far with the attrition. The rest of the insurance industry, continues to shed jobs or are keeping their attrition plans in place. Illinois unemployment rate is in the high teens if you look at the labor participation rate which is
at multiple year lows. Any wonder why Illinois income tax receipts
continue to decline & they are billions in debt to their vendors?
As to Chrysler, they are only a fraction of the company it used to be and their claimed profits are as made up as the profits they claimed before their bankruptcy. They are totally dependent on further bailouts from US taxpayers.

For Macy’s infromation, I did contact the carrier . I did not get any satisfaction, so I am going to go higher up, and will continue until I get an answer to my question. Lady, I wasn’t born yesterday so I suggest to apologize to me for calling me an idiot, because I am far from that.

Dont be fooled. State Farm is closing offices everywhere and if you dont want to relocate on your own dime….oh well, you are out of a job.

Gina, give me some more info… I know lots of Local offices are closing. Which office are you in? Just trying to stay 1 step ahead of the game. They didn’t offer any relocation package? Any more info would help.
