Nebraska Medical Liability Insurer Adds Staff, Announces Promotions

Preferred Professional Insurance Company (PPIC), an Omaha, Neb.-based Catholic-owned medical liability insurance firm, has hired Patti Hiemer as the company’s accounting clerk and made a number of staff changes.

James O. Walters has been promoted from vice president, information systems to senior vice president and chief information officer. Walters has been with PPIC for 15 years.

Karen McIntosh was promoted from claims administrator to information support specialist. McIntosh has been with PPIC for over 12 years.

Dana Henderson was promoted from finance assistant to claims coordinator. Henderson has been with PPIC for more than 10 years.

Lisa Keane was promoted from senior claims attorney to director of claims. She has been with PPIC for more than 12 years.

Anne Cornell was promoted from claims attorney to senior claims attorney. She has been with PPIC for more than nine years.

Lisa Wendell, who has been with PPIC for four years, has been promoted from agency account coordinator to business development and agency administrator.

PPIC specializes in medical liability insurance for physicians associated with its nationwide network of Catholic health care owner systems. Founded in December of 1987, the company is dedicated to supporting the health care ministry of its owners by providing an array of insurance products and related services.
