Great American Insurance Group, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, has promoted David L. Thompson, Jr. to divisional president of its Specialty Property and Casualty AgriBusiness Division.
Thompson joined Great American in 2006 and has held positions of increasing responsibility within the Company. Within the Agribusiness Division, Thompson provided oversight of the claims, product development and divisional reinsurance operations, as well as management of an underwriting team.
During his tenure with Great American, Thompson has served as a member of an international due diligence and acquisition team and led the creation and implementation of a risk management program within the company’s AgriBusiness operations.
Jim Muething was named divisional group president and Thompson will continue to report to him. In his new role, Muething will oversee the company’s AgriBusiness, Equine Mortality and Specialty Excess & Surplus Divisions.
